Here's the story........

Where to begin I guess. I graduated from St. Henry High School in 1983 and was with the Crusader team in 1981 when Simon Kenton won the state championship in basketball. I remember listening to Dale McMillen calling the games against Louisville Moore, Knott County Central, Virgie and then Mason County on the radio. Little did I know that I would be doing the same kind of thing in my own future.

The Clear Channel Days..........

In 1999, after getting married, I answered an ad in the paper for a producer with the Clear Channel AM stations to pick up some extra cash. The stations at the time were located in Mt. Adams. I started working at 55KRC running taped programming from 6:00pm to Midnight. It wasn't long before I started working at 700WLW. Working with the cast of characters that included SportsTalk with Andy Furman, Bill Cunningham, Mike McConnell. It was in the spring of 2000 that I started working with the Reds Radio network. At the time, you ran the game for WLW as well as the 39 station network. Getting to know Marty Brennaman, Joe Nuxhall, Steve Stewart and Thom Brennaman has been a great experience. Soon after that, Clear Channel got the rights to broadcast the Bengals games after being away for some time. I became the Network Producer for the Bengals Radio Network. I held that position for 5 years until I left Clear Channel in March of 2006. It was during this time that my kids were attending Gallatin County High School, a small school located in Warsaw KY. In going to my son's basketball games, I noticed that there was no media covering Gallatin County or the schools that they played. That gave me an idea....

Tri State Internet Sports is born........

Using what I had learned from Clear Channel and my Information Technology background, I started looking into what it would take to broadcast games over the internet. I started the company, Tri State Internet Sports. Our goal was simple. To broadcast high school sports over the internet. I contacted various schools in Northern Kentucky to see if there was any interest. Holmes, Bellevue and Gallatin County contacted me about doing their games. We started with Boys Basketball. In trying to get sponsors for the games, we found that only the companies and businesses in the Gallatin County area were responding to our proposals. We contacted the other schools and regretably had to drop them. We continued with Gallatin County only. In working with the school, we were able to do 13 home games for the Gallatin County Wildcats. Through the sponsorships we were able to obtain, we were able to give back a portion of the ad revenue back to the athletic department for their use.

Expansion in year 2..........

In the 2006-07 school year, Tri State Internet Sports added the first year of Varsity Football, Girls Basketball and Baseball to the Boys Basketball games. A total of 47 broadcasts in all. Tri State Internet Sports added a website for the Wildcats Athletics in December of 2005. GallatinCountyWildcats.com was born and has become one of the most visited sites in the area. The site houses information on all of the Gallatin County teams, archived broadcasts and other information on the various sports at Gallatin County High School.
